What you'll need

Prep tools, base coat, nude foundation gel, pink magnetic cat-eye gel and magnet, gold chrome, liner brush, crystals, glossy top coat and curing lamp.

Step by step: pink cat-eye marble with gold chrome

1. Prepare the surface. Shape and prep the nails, remove dust, then apply and cure a compatible base coat according to the manufacturer's directions.
2. Lay a nude-pink foundation. Apply an even, thin nude-pink gel layer on the marble accent nails and cure.
3. Position the magnetic shimmer. Apply rose-pink cat-eye gel on the chosen nails. Before curing, move the magnet beside the nail to concentrate the reflective particles into a soft highlight. Cure each nail after positioning the effect.
4. Create translucent marble. Paint irregular pale-white and blush-pink wisps through a thin compatible clear layer. Feather some edges while keeping nude areas visible, then cure.
5. Plan bold gold accents. Sketch where the reflective gold chrome curves should frame the marble. Leave open space around the strongest cat-eye shimmer.
6. Apply chrome selectively. Use a chrome-compatible detailing gel or no-wipe product according to its instructions. Cure if required, rub gold chrome pigment onto the prepared design, then remove loose powder and clean stray pigment.
7. Seal the details. Add optional crystals with suitable nail-art adhesive if desired. Seal the chrome and cap the free edges with a compatible glossy top coat, then fully cure.

Gold chrome versus gold swirl and gold foil

The defining detail of this set is its mirror-like gold chrome reflection, which contrasts with cloudy marble and magnetic rose-pink shimmer. Chrome powder creates a different finish from the painted gold swirl version or the gold foil version. Follow the chrome product's instructions and avoid skin contact with uncured gel.

How to keep the shape natural
