Estimated time: 65–80 minutes
What you'll need
Prep tools, base coat, nude foundation gel, pink magnetic cat-eye gel and magnet, gold metallic gel/chrome, fine liner, crystals, glossy top coat and curing lamp.
Step by step: pink cat-eye marble with painted gold swirls
- Prepare and shape. Prep the nails and refine the shape before removing dust. Apply a thin compatible base coat and cure according to the product instructions.
- Lay down a sheer pink base. Apply nude-pink foundation gel on the marble accent nails and cure. Keep the layers even so later artwork does not become bulky.
- Create the magnetic pink glow. Apply pink cat-eye gel to the chosen nails or sections. While it is uncured, move a cat-eye magnet beside the nail to guide the shimmer into a soft reflective band. Check the effect from several angles and cure one nail at a time.
- Build the cloudy marble. With a detail brush, draw a few irregular pale-white and pink wisps through a thin layer of compatible clear gel. Gently feather selected edges while leaving some translucent pink visible, then cure.
- Paint flowing gold curves. Using a fine liner and gold metallic gel, trace one or two slim S-shaped curves alongside the marble veining. Vary the direction and spacing instead of outlining every marble line. Leave open space around the brightest cat-eye reflection, then cure the gold gel as directed.
- Seal without adding bulk. Check the curves for uneven ridges, make any corrections before the final cure, and finish with a compatible glossy top coat. Cap the free edge and cure fully.
Magnetic placement changes with magnet strength and pigment. Exact polish numbers can be matched to Kevin T Nails inventory separately.
Gold swirls versus gold foil
This design is defined by hand-painted, continuous metallic curves that flow with the marble. The gold foil variation uses small, irregular foil fragments instead of painted lines. For the swirl look, keep the curves thin and asymmetric so the cat-eye shimmer remains the focus.
Tips for a clean finish
Keep the gold lines especially fine near the sidewalls, and avoid stacking thick decorative layers over the apex. Test the curve with a nearly dry liner brush before painting with metallic gel. If a line looks uneven, correct it before curing instead of covering it with more product. Avoid contact between uncured gel and skin. Compare this look with pearl and crystal marble nails or bolder gold chrome marble nails.
