What you'll need
Prep tools, base coat, nude foundation gel, pink magnetic cat-eye gel and magnet, gold line gel, pearls, crystals, glossy top coat and curing lamp.
Step by step: pink cat-eye marble with pearls and crystals
- Prepare a balanced base. Prep and shape each nail, remove dust, and apply a thin compatible base coat. Cure according to the gel manufacturer's instructions.
- Build the soft pink background. Apply a sheer nude-pink foundation to the accent nails and cure. Keep the surface smooth so the raised decorations will sit securely.
- Create the magnetic glow. Apply pink cat-eye gel to the selected nails. Before curing, guide the reflective particles with a magnet to form a soft, concentrated highlight. Adjust the band one nail at a time, then cure.
- Layer delicate marble veining. On accent nails, draw irregular wisps of white and pale pink through a thin layer of compatible clear gel. Feather some edges and leave translucent space so the marble does not hide the pink base; cure.
- Add restrained gold detailing. Use a fine liner and gold gel to paint narrow accents beside the marble veins. Cure the lines before adding dimensional decorations so they remain crisp.
- Arrange pearls and crystals. Plan a small focal cluster away from the free edge and areas that frequently snag. Place pearls and crystals with an appropriate nail-art adhesive or setting gel, following the product's placement and curing directions. Check that every stone is stable.
- Seal around, not over, the sparkle. Apply compatible glossy top coat to the nail surface and carefully around the bases of embellishments. Avoid covering faceted crystal faces with thick top coat, and fully cure.
Magnetic placement changes with magnet strength and pigment. Exact polish numbers can be matched to Kevin T Nails inventory separately.
What makes this pearl-and-crystal design different?
The focal point is a raised, jewelry-like arrangement of pearls and faceted crystals against soft pink magnetic shimmer. Unlike gold foil marble nails, which use flat metallic fragments, or painted gold swirl nails, this design adds texture and dimensional sparkle. Use a few carefully spaced embellishments instead of covering the whole nail.
Keeping the embellishments comfortable
Raised decorations need extra care. Check for sharp or catching edges after placement; avoid picking at stones, and have loose embellishments professionally repaired rather than pulling them off. Keep uncured gel and adhesives off the skin. For a flatter alternative, try gold swirl marble nails; for a metallic finish without pearls, see gold chrome and crystal accents.
