Difficulty: Intermediate
Estimated time: 60–75 minutes
What you'll need
Prep tools, base coat, nude foundation gel, pink magnetic cat-eye gel and magnet, gold chrome, liner brush, crystals, glossy top coat and curing lamp.
Step by step: pink cat-eye with gold chrome and crystals
- Prep and refine the shape. Prepare each nail, remove dust and apply a thin compatible base coat. Cure according to the manufacturer's directions.
- Create the sheer nude base. Apply a smooth, translucent nude-pink foundation and cure. This open-looking background is an important part of the design, so avoid covering every nail with opaque color.
- Plan the pink and nude sections. Map out where the bright rose-pink magnetic gel will sit and where sheer nude negative space should remain visible. Keep the boundaries clean and balanced across the set.
- Magnetize the pink sections. Apply rose-pink cat-eye gel to the selected areas only. Before curing, guide the reflective particles with a magnet until the shimmer sits inside the pink sections without obscuring the nude contrast. Cure one nail at a time.
- Add controlled gold chrome accents. Use a chrome-compatible detailing product to define the intended metallic edges or curves. Follow its instructions for curing and applying gold chrome pigment; remove loose powder and stray particles before sealing.
- Position the crystals. Choose a few focal points near the chrome details while leaving enough nude space visible. Secure each crystal with a suitable nail-art adhesive or setting gel, following its placement and curing instructions. Check that the stones sit securely and do not catch on nearby skin.
- Seal for a smooth finish. Apply compatible glossy top coat over the nail and carefully around the bases of the crystals, without burying their faceted faces. Cap the free edge and cure completely.
Magnetic placement changes with magnet strength and pigment. Exact polish numbers can be matched to Kevin T Nails inventory separately.
Why this design is different
The signature of this look is sheer nude negative space framing rose-pink magnetic shimmer, gold chrome and a few crystals. Unlike pink cat-eye marble with gold chrome, this design does not depend on cloudy marble veining. The open nude sections help the chrome and crystals stand out without making the nails look overloaded.
How to keep the details neat
Use thin gel layers and avoid piling chrome products beneath the crystals. Test stone placement before applying adhesive, and seal around rather than over faceted stones. Follow product curing directions and avoid contact between uncured gel and skin.
Care tips for this look
Use gloves for prolonged cleaning, avoid using nails as tools, and do not pull off loose crystals. Ask your technician to repair lifting or damaged embellishments. Prefer marble details? See pink marble with gold chrome or explore other chrome nail ideas.
