What you'll need
Base coat, selected gel colors, cat-eye magnet, detail tools for the listed accents, glossy top coat, curing lamp and standard nail-prep tools.
Step by step
- Prep and create a consistent short square shape on every nail.
- Apply base coat and cure. Use a compatible dark or nude base where the cat-eye shade needs more contrast.
- Assign complementary cat-eye colors across the set rather than mixing them wet on one nail.
- Magnetize each nail individually, varying the light band slightly while keeping the set balanced, then cure.
- Add thin gold metallic accents only after the magnetic layers are fully cured.
- Seal the design with a smooth glossy top coat and cure thoroughly.
Product shades and magnetic results can vary by brand, pigment and magnet strength.
